Hugo doesn't know happiness, he thinks. He knows the relief of telling his Mum he is a boy, and he knows the comfort of hanging out in the woods. Until he meets COUM, Club of Unsolved Mysteries, a fake-literary club that actually hunts monsters, and where maybe he can finally do something that matters. Hugo just isn't sure how to tell them he is a half-demon himself. And how he is probably becoming obsessed with another demon, Fran, whom he met by chance and now seems to be obsessed with him too.
