Jacob Lamik is an amnesiac with an unusual gift.

After being attacked by a mysterious creature called the Darkness he wakes to find himself being nursed by a young woman, and learns that he has lost all memory. She offers to help him to regain it under the condition that he go with her to help local scientists create a cure. It's this that prompts the Darkness to attack the city, forcing Lamik to fight. After managing to ward off the monsters, Lamik decides to set off to end the problem at the source once and for all.
