When Mikasa is saved from her kidnappers by Eren, the girl is sent to live with Levi. The Scout tries to raise the girl the only way he knows how and turns her into a warrior as strong as him. This however causes Eren and Mikasa to be separated from one another for years. So when she learns about what happened in Shiganshina she think Eren died and becomes heartbroken. This traumatic event causes the girl to become as cold and heartless as Levi. However, everything changes when she turns twelve and joins the 104th Cadet Corps, only to see the boy she thought was dead for two years alive. While Eren is furious about the whole ordeal, Greta is traumatized to the point of having frightening nightmares whenever she sleeps; and those nightmares aren't like ones she had as a little girl. Her nightmares are plagued with ravenous Titans out for the kill... She thinks it may be a coincidence at first because she knows that dreams don't always mean anything, but she can't get it out of her head. She doesn't know what to think of it at first because she doesn't want to believe her father and brother could be Titans. Greta wants to join the Scouts to help protect people she loves from the wrath of the monsters plaguing the world. Eren wants to join the Scouts to get revenge by killing every single Titan on earth.
