His oldest daughter, whom he adopted in 1935., Valentina.
Heartbroken by her fathers death and the death of her younger sister and boyfriend, Valentina vows to protect Hope.
She enrolls in Salvatore Boarding School but doesn't use the last name Mikaelson.
For a while, protecting Hope was easy. Hope mostly kept to herself, and Valentina was the only person she really talked to.
But when a certain boy comes to Salvatore School, things change. Creatures that were supposed to be just myths turn out to be real.
To make matters worse, Hope constantly puts herself in danger even though it isn't her job to protect the school. That's what the headmaster, whom Valentina hates, and teachers are supposed to do.
Valentina tries to convince Hope not to put herself in danger, but Hope is a Mikaelson after all, and every Mikaelson is stubborn. More you tell them not to do something, more they will want to do it.
Now, Valentina is fighting monsters and protecting the school she wants to burn to the ground to protect her sister just like she vowed to do.
After all, family is the most important thing in the world, and Valentina protects hers with all she has.
