When Melissa Baber found out she was pregnant at age fifteen, she didn't know where to turn. Her parents were so upset that she feared for her safety as well as her unborn child. The father, Jason Ryder was an up and coming MMA fighter. When she tried to tell him at one of his big matches, his manager, Tobias Franklin, informed her that he knew of her pregnancy. He also told her that Jason was on the fast track of being the best in the world and if she didn't want to ruin it for him, to go on and never tell him of it.
Seth Whitman, a local boy who always had a crush on Melissa, found her spinning around on the merry-go-around at the park, crying and distraught. When he coaxed it out of her, he did not hesitate to tell her that he would take care of her and the baby. Together, they moved with his family and Melissa gave birth to twins, one boy, one girl.
