The universe works in mysterious (and often stupid) ways, though, leaving Kakashi caught up in a series of coincidences that could change the course of his life. Story starts after Team Seven returns from the Land of Waves and before the Chinin Exams. Canon events are loosely followed prior to the start of the story, then we take a running leap away from it.
This is a rewrite/repost of a story I wrote years ago on a different site. I've been watching Naruto again and wanted to revisit this story, but it needed some updates as I wrote it a long while ago.
I will mostly be using the western method of first time first, then surname, and will be limited honorifics to a few here and there.
