Ok so if you don't know who Nate and Hugh is its the boy hero for black&white2 and I don't want to call him black2 bc that's confusing as fuck or I might call him Niro which also means black (the girl name is Blanc which also means white) and Hugh is the rival.
And I'll use Calem for his name but X is a nickname and there was no one else to ship Calem with that was attractive so I picked Pro.Sycamore bc he's a hella hot Professor. And Ash and Gary are not! Red and Green they're based off of them so there a different pairing.
Also each pairing will have its own series like about 20 chapters each maybe it depends. If you have any questions feel free to ask :).

Also, the protagonist ages. Q - Who are the Main Protagonists and the rivals? A - Red, a character from the Pokemon Video Games is the main protagonist along with his best friend Leaf. Whereas the character Blue (also known as Gary in the anime) is more of a frenemy than a rival. The main rivals would be Team Rocket Grunts - Cassidy and Butch as well as their Boss, Giovanni.
