You and your parents just moved from Redding, California to Tulsa, Oklahoma. You wander the streets since you have nothing else better to do. You see some kid a few years younger than you getting beat up by a whole bunch of guys your age. You attack the guys with your built-up adrenaline and save the boy whilst his brothers come out to see the ruckus. They thank you for saving their younger brother Ponyboy and introduce you to the rest of the gang and welcome you to Tulsa. You end up going to the Curtis' house quite often despite only knowing them for a month. You and the greaser 'Johnny Cade' seem to have a strong bond together since you two can relate in having abusive parents. Johnny's parents are more verbally abusive and your parents are verbally and physically abusive. Since you're welcomed as apart of the greaser side of town, you end up talking to Dallas a few times. (Who, only starts talking to you because he finds you cute.) He then learns that your parents have been treating you in a similar way that Johnny's parents treat him. This leads him to having a soft spot for you and looking out for you more than he does most people of the gang.All Rights Reserved

Among the many gangs in Tulsa, the biggest one happens to be an Italian force. Their name is the Key Men, despite both men and women being in the gang. It is dangerous for Elle to not be in the Key Men because she does speak fluent Italian, and her brother may or may not be able to protect her forever like he promised. The Key Men want Elle Bovino because she has power and could influence the other girls. But many gangs want her for the same reason. Who knows, her life could domino effect downhill due to the one guy who promised her protection. Hell, she might not even marry the man she thought. Red is a FanFiction depicting gang violence, family, love, abuse, power, and the misogynistic views of the 60s through a love story involving our beloved Sodapop Curtis.
