Hidden Truths (revised)

Genevieve always thought she was insane; always seeing things that others didn't. She learned this at the age of five when she first mentioned the shadowy figures. One stood out to her in particular. A man with a hood, and a red glow to him; she never saw his face. Never even a glimpse. Though he became more solid as the years passed and every time she told someone, they'd look at her as if she lost her mind. It wasn't until she was twelve that she realized that no one else saw the shadows, they didn't see the man in the hood as she did. The man who seemed to be watching her all her life, they didn't see him. If she didn't stop talking about the shadows and the man they'd lock her up, just like they locked mama up a year prior. So from then on silence was her life.
