When Lights LaVaughn, thirteen-year-old hacker extraordinaire, finds a message scrawled in the place where her father, a luthier and musician famous for the cellos and violins he makes, is murdered, she seeks the help of an old frienemy, Detective Jo Martinez. When she meets up with the detective, she knows exactly what to expect - murder, mayhem, and chaos. What she isn't expecting is the face that appears in her nightmares every night.

Enter Henry Morgan, M.E. and consultant of the NYPD, the host of a secret that is quite literally deadly. When Lights and Dr. Morgan meet, sparks fly, and as the three companions race against the clock to find the man who murdered Lights' father and is threatening to light all of New York aflame, the three must figure out how to stop it all from falling apart and uncover every secret, even when everything takes a turn for the worse.

When Adam, Dr. Morgan's mysterious stalker makes his grand entrance, and the whole game is thrown into overdrive, Dr. Morgan must choose: Run, like he always has, in hopes of ending it, and leave everyone he cares for in danger, or keep his own and fight.

Non est medium.

There is no middle ground.

[Okay, so this story is, like, old. I need to edit it A LOT because there are so many plot holes and unnecessary things, so please don't judge! Thank you!]

He finally found the one. The one that he had given up on finding at such an early age, he finally found the person who could complete him. Now he just had to make sure he could keep her safe. He had found her in the worst possible place: right in the middle of a case. "By the way," his partner pulled him out of his thoughts. He surprised him by giving him a mischievous smirk. "That growl? 10/10 in my book. Very spooky. 9/10 on Rotten Tomatoes for Plot and Suspense. Of course, one point was taken away for doing it near humans, a woman, nonetheless. But, other than that, loved it." He had to take a deep breath for that. He stopped walking and glared at the man. "You know," he started. "One of these days you're going to wind up dead because of that mouth." "From you?" "Possibly." "Good," that smirk never left his face. "You have no idea how annoying it is being immortal." "Can't be worse than being friends with one," he rolled his eyes and continued his walk. As much as he was excited to find his love, he couldn't help but be concerned for the woman. She was a gypsy without a past or a family. And it seemed like there was more than just him looking for her. But who was it? And why? Why was she trapped in that glass? Detective Jim Magnar didn't know the answer to that. But he had a feeling that this was just the start to something much grander than a simple call on the police radio. It was a destiny trapped in glass. And now he had to figure out where it was leading him. * A mystery romance with a supernatural twist! "How do you feel now, Morgan?" She says, more pointing something out than asking a question. She grabs hold of my wrists and tightens them. If I could see properly I could swear I see them turn purple. "I could beat you to the bone, right here, right now, till you die from your injuries. But, I won't. You will die. Maybe not today, maybe not in a month, but you will." Well, obviously I'm going to die. Humans don't live forever. "Wonder why?" "No, and I really don't care." She answers anyway. "Because we have the power, the people, and the weapons to do it. Face it, you're defenseless against us." I feel some blood flooding my mouth, so I, being a perfectly nice person, spit it in her face. That doesn't faze her at all. "I have the strength and intelligence, something you clearly don't have. Whatever y'all do to me, it won't break me. I will put up a hell of a fight before losing. I will fight, and I will win." I turn over and look at her fellow companions. "Even if I die doing it." "Is that a risk you're willing to take?" ____________________________________ 17 year old Morgan Peters is an average girl living life.
