Something happened in Wilbur's past and he can't remember why, he feels a strong, strange connection towards a young boy he thinks he's never seen before..

'Before we leave, I was wondering something... I noticed that your social worker called you Will and I suppose I'm wondering which name you preferred?' Wilbur was surprised that he noticed such a small thing, but he supposed it accounted for the surprise that he had noticed earlier. 'Oh, I prefer Wilbur if that's okay sir. My social worker always forgot to call me Wilbur and I stopped correcting him a while back.' He replied, choosing to ignore the feeling of anxiety at the realisation that was the most he had talked throughout their meeting. 'Alright mate. Oh, and please call me Phil. Sir makes me sound older than I actually am.' OR A fluff to angst to fluff adoption AU where Wilbur Soot gets adopted into the SBI household just before his 18th birthday after years in the foster system. Now, he must learn how to trust his newfound family and find that it's okay to be dependent on others. But after so many years of only relying on only himself, Wilbur struggles to do that. After all, can a story ever be that simple? Trigger warnings are at the top of each chapter. There aren't many but check them out anyway. Tommy's home is one of the many casualties of this ongoing war he knows nothing about. This not pog to say the least. But as least he can do whatever he wants being one of the only survivors and all right? Wrong! But hey now it's his job to figure out what the heck is going on and find someone who can help him. Luckily for him he finds some information that could lead him to getting help and finally escaping this nightmare of a place. These unsuspecting victims.... I mean people will now have no choice but to love Tommy and protect him in anyway they can. (Also on ao3) (this is literally my worst fic so I would recommend reading any of my other ones instead lol)
