When Uther finally pays his price for making sure he had an heir in Arthur, emotional and mental chaos ensues. Arthur feels as though he has no purpose and like he will never be ready to rule- but Merlin changes that.

(This story is inspired from but will not be following the BBC show 'Merlin'. I'm currently watching Season 2 so my knowledge so far is what I will be using for this story, I don't know the ending and I doubt it will follow that.)

Merthur. During Merlin's absence, jealous Arthur is tortured by his suspicions. Events take place at the end of s5ep08 and a little bit after it. Mostly gap fillers. There are also would be some outtakes and flashbacks. Slightly AU because Arthur and Merlin are involved in a secret relationship that started somewhere between the second and third seasons, and in some scenes Arthur behaves slightly differently from canon. This is a fanfiction about Merlin. Arthur and merlin were just on a hunting trip when bandits kidnapped merlin. Arthur is devastated. He is willing to do anything to get merlin back. But then a army attacked Camelot. Merlin isn't himself and he puts the one he loved in danger. Arthur has to stop merlin but how? this is after season 5 but with a different ending and Arthur doesn't know merlin has magic. It's about how merlin turned against Arthur. We pick up right at the last episode of the show however I made a few changes...This work is my own with the addition of a completely new story line that just continues that heart-felt and silly world from the show that we all love. This story is about love and the struggles that we must overcome in the name of it. A lot of Merthur, but I keep it pretty pg-13 so don't expect a lot of smut.
