He was looking down at me with a smug smirk on his face and laughed when I turned away, swishing my blonde hair in his face and walking over to my waving parents. "Cya around then, sweetheart."

"Oh," he said, as my back hit the wooden wall. Damn it, of course. With nowhere to go, his arms locked me in between him and the wall. He stared down at me as he said, "So you're trying to piss me off?" His lips were surprisingly close to mine. No guy would ever be this close to me in real life, let alone me being able to handle it; I would've been so timid and afraid. But this was the dream world. I could speak and be as brave as I wanted to. "Yeah, I am," I said. "What are you gonna do about it?" He paused as his eyes looked between the two of mine. Then, he smirked and swiftly closed the gap between our lips. ~~ In a small town in New York, Hazel is your average quiet type. On a early Sunday morning; Echo is getting ready to head to her parents house to spend the day with her family. There's a knock on the door. Echo opens it, surprised at the smiling figure of a male looking down at her. "Hi! Is Izzy here?! I have to drop off her notes!" The boys says holding up a yellow note book with Izzy's classic property tag written on it, 'Izzy Is Baby'. "She's not here right now. But you can set it on her desk over there." I say while moving and letting him pass. I close the door and walk to my bed, grabbing the CD's I bought for my younger sisters Evie. He walks to the door and turns the handle but it doesn't open. I turn around when I hear him struggling with the door. "The door won't open." He says pointing to the handle. "Yeah it's been weird the past week or two. You just have to yank on it." I say as I walk up to it to open it. But a loud static sound comes over the speakers. "Hello students of Clover University. It seems we've had a glitch in the locking system. We're not sure how long it will take to repair. So unfortunately you're stuck in the dorms until further notice. We're sorry for the inconvenience." The speakers make a beeping sound then go quiet. I sigh before throwing my bag on my bed and plopping down. I pull out my phone and call my parents, telling them what is happening and that I won't see them until they fix the issue in the system. "Well then. Guess I'm stuck with thee Echo Short!" The boys smiles joyfully before marching over to Izzy's bed and sitting down. "So you know my name but I don't know yours." I say looking at him. He chuckles. "Kai Wells! It's a pleasure to meet you!" He says happily. "Nice to meet you Kai Wells! I look forward to getting to know you buddy." I say with a faint smile before falling back into my bed and plugging in my earbuds. This is gonna be a weird... BOOK #1 IN THE SHORT SERIES (not sure when the other ones will be out or even if they'll be released)

"Damian Reed," he introduced himself smoothly. His voice deep and raspy, carrying a rough edge that made me pause for a second. "And you are?" "Estella." Also, I know a tad bit of karate, which helps me get out of some sticky situations. Thea's the youngest, so she doesn't really party much. Not at all, actually. I'm happy. I wouldn't trade my life for the world. I get straight A's, I'm a very good student and I love people, if they're not trying to get to me for my family's money in any way, shape or form. Good people can be hard to come by these days. But things were about to change - and the day that I got the news that my brother Oliver's boat, The Queen's Gambit, went down in international waters 2,100 nautical miles east of Australia, that was the day my life changed...
