She pressed her lips to his. "I love you too." Then, quicker than lightning, a crack echoed around the imposing stone walls. The silence was resounding. The sudden denouement of his death. No-one was breathing. Time stopped completely. Elise was the first to break the muteness. "Wes?" She had breathed, her voice hitching. "Wes?" One by one the adults around us began slipping beneath the water again. The punishment was over. All that was left was a man with a broken neck, and a mermaid with a broken heart.

"Life is bittersweet... But the further you travel the less it will become bitter and the more it will be sweet. Bittersweet." Ariel. It's an ironic name considering she wasn't a mermaid that was anywhere close to getting her happy ending. Please, that was far from being her reality. In her world, there were no such things as happy endings. Or spontaneous love... until she met Stephen. Stephen. Stephen has been through hell and back and is desperately trying to gain his bearings, but it seems like life doesn't give a fuck until... she walk in... wait... no...SLAMMED in.
