Haven Grace Jenkins’s life has been a lie. From the moment of the “incident” every single thing has been a lie. She’s lied to her neighbours, her best friend and the man that claimed her heart, however, he’s long gone without a note saying he’ll come back. Haven knows why though, she knows why everyone she’s ever loved leaves and it’s all because of that “incident.” Nolan Ace Greyson was never supposed to appear in my life like that, but he did and he also did leave. He was my prince and I was his princess, until he left.
When old promises collide with new ones how are you supposed to believe what is true? How are you supposed to move on when your demons are still chasing you. Just because you can sleep at night doesn’t mean your demons are done chasing you. As familiar old dark shadows reappear how are you supposed to save your loved ones when you can’t even save yourself?
~ “Stop running away from me!” He yelled exasperated, frustration filled his voice but I was too afraid to look at him. I didn’t want to run anymore. I wanted him to scoop me up in his arms and tell me everything was going to be okay.
A firm hand pulled at my wrist forcing me to turn around to look at him, “Why are you running away from me?” He pulled me close. I was too close. I could smell his aftershave and feel the familiar warmth when he pulled me close tight. Why was I doing this? Why was I pulling away?
There was no reason. I was safe, in the arms of the person I shouldn’t even be trusting again. ~
