The Edge of beginning

Family isn't always defined by blood, sometimes it's people who take care of you and love you despite not being genetically one of them. Some people find their family with their friends, some find it with their actual parents, others find it with the people who found them and raised them. They treat you as their own and raise you as one of them. They give you the love and affection they have, and you never seem to find the difference between the adopted and the real kids.
Finding this kind of family who loved unconditionally despite everything, was Albus Dumbledore's mission of the night. After a new born girl was left on his door, he knew he couldn't take care of her since he was a busy man being the wizarding school headmaster, not to mention his condition and age.

"Well, you see..." Draco cleared his throat "Father sort of made Greengrass watch me and report every move I make. And if I want to stay here, in this school, I have to follow his orders"
"And let me guess" She scoffed "One of his orders is not to talk to me?"
"Not to talk to blood traitors in general" He answered looking at the ground
"But you are talking to me now" She said still looking at him
"I already told you I don't care what my father says" Draco replied looking at her "I want to talk to you, so I will." He smiled "What father doesn't know, won't hurt him"
"I don't know if I should be angry at you, or flattered" She sighed
"Well, I am not proud of this, but I really like talking to you. And father won't stop me from doing something I like" He said
