Our world is the same of yours. Same food, Same cultures, same animals, same illnesses, Same Hopes and Dreams. But our hopes and dreams, have a timer. The timer doesn't work for everything, but it works for most things. It's main purpose is to count down the amount of days, years, minutes, and seconds until you find your so called soul mate. Now I'm not totally sold on the idea of soul mates. Not everyone is. But so far these things have always been accurate. Here's how it works, this isn't the exact science because no one really knows how they works, but At birth your given a watch. You then take a blood test of some sort Which then pretty much narrows it down. As life goes on every year on birthday you take a new blood test which narrows it down even more. Roughly By the time you turn 17. The watch has figured out who your soulmate is and when you meet them. One more fun fact. Tomorrow is my birthday and if you can put two and two together You can guess how old I'm turning.

I sighed heavily as I scanned the forest. I had heard something or someone to be specific, wandering about. I decided I would leave once I affirmed they weren't a danger. Soulmates, we're always told we have one but I haven't been so sure I do. I mean I did get my tattoo and it hasn't disappeared yet, meaning they aren't dead. I guess believing in something like that takes a lot of effort. When you first touch your soulmate (Skin to skin contact) your tattoo turns a solid color. That color is the most important color in your life at the moment you touched. In this world, there's a system to tell who your soulmate is. Nobody remembers how it happened but, one day people started getting these tattoos on their right wrist. These tattoos are a basic shape that resembles your soulmate's hair. The shape is filled in completely by the color of your soulmate's hair as well. In the center of the tattoo, there are 1-5 objects. Those objects describe what your soulmate loves to do. The shape of my tattoo always fascinated me but I've never been able to put it into words. My tattoo shape is an upside-down half-circle if instead of the bottom part being flat, it opens and curves outwards. In the center of my tattoo was a volleyball, it always was a volleyball, it's never changed once. You see naturally, people tend to change hobbies, but whoever my soulmate was, they didn't change theirs, I never changed mine either which is fascinating. Remember when I said that a kiss or an award had a time limit on it? Well, if you find the right person to say "I love you" to, that doesn't go away. That doesn't vanish. That lingers on forever if you're especially lucky. Feeding it with more is always helpful, of course, but if you've found the person whose "I love you" never goes away, then you're probably doing your damndest to keep them in your life. So it never really leaves you. What it does do is color every bit of your life with a magical sheen of joy where even bad luck appears to turn around and become good once more. Broke your shoelace? Well, maybe you walked by a lottery machine on the way to buy more and won a thousand bucks. Who knows? Glass is half full and all of that. I didn't have such interesting luck, but I did find a new level of contentment with my life.

In life, we do things we regret, or that we wish we could wipe from our memory forever. At the age of 15, I didn't think I'd regret anything until I was an adult. I considered myself care free.
