Everyone has heard of freaky tales of the dead, but have you ever considered what has gone through the eyes of the "monsters"? Hejira is a wandering spirit that lingered on earth ever since her house burned down with her entire family inside it. As she seeks company, she comes across many different types of people and witnesses many events as she watches the everyday lives of those who she sees.

Lucy Caldwell suffered a disaster in her childhood - her house was burnt, which turned fatal for her parents. She grew up in a children's house together with other orphans. She could never forget the fire incident and was sure her parents were murdered, so she always wished to investigate the case when she grew old enough.
