My name is Kim Jae. I live in South Korean with my adopted older brother, Kim Kwan. My family had moved here to be close to an old friend. Unfortunately that old friend was involved in gangs and that got my parents killed. The leader of the gang that killed my family took me in because he found out what I was. His name was Kim Kang-Dae. I am a shadow. I can control shadows, make it lighter or darker. I can make myself into a shadow. My world is full of people who have powers but shadows are the rarest of all. After growing up and being tortured as a child to make sure I would be loyal I am sent on a mission that changes my life. A man by the name of Moon Seung was an old school friend of Kim Kang-Dae. He came after Kim Kang-Dae's death to reconnect with the family but instead he finds out about the gang and confronts Kim Kwan about it. He planned on telling the police unless Kim Kwan changes the gang into something better and he has to give back all the money he has earned from the gang. Kim Kwan refuses and he flees with his son Moon Shin. I am sent to kill him but my orders are to get close to them first so that he feels betrayed when I reveal who I am and Kim Kwan comes out. Things go wrong when I realize that Shin is my soulmate. Then with the help of my only two friends I have to betray Kim Kwan.
