Serena has feelings for Ash. She's known that for awhile. But what she didn't know, is just how strong those feelings are. Now that she's away from him in Hoenn, everything feels empty. She officially has an unhealthy obsession. And the only way to cure an obsession is to... Wait, how do you cure one, exactly?
Even if she doesn't know that, she does know this: if she starts dating Ash, she wants their relationship to be healthy. And that means she needs to get a new perspective! And what better way to do that than to screw around in a new region. Oh, and she needs to work on Pokémon Contests, and get some new clothes for when she sees Ash... wait, was she obsessing over Ash again?
