A retelling of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella, a young French maiden in the 19th Century is tired of everyone belittling her and finally grows a backbone. When she suddenly runs away from the manor she has called home for so many years, she is greeted with a world so unlike the one she remembers. With the help of a certain fairy godmother and a charming prince, she must choose her own fairy tale ending whether it will be the one we all know and love, we shall soon see.

Similar characters, different plot, same heart. Clara's problems can be summed up in two words: responsibility and family. After the loss of her mother, life for Clara was never the same. Although she loves her three siblings and tries to be the best sister and lady she can, the weight on her shoulders grows the more she learns and the more she has to know. When her father remarries to a secretive widow, Clara's responsibilities triple overnight. Through no fault of her own, Clara is thrown into an adventure she never counted on-- one of magic, tragedy, and romance. Through palace ballrooms, enchanted forests, and encounters with a handsome stranger she really shouldn't care for, Clara soon realizes that the only way to help her family and fix the problem is to do it herself. Cinderella
In this retelling of a classic tale, Mariette struggles through life with a stepmother that hates her. When she is whisked away at the prince's ball, she begins to believe that her life is going to change-that is until the prince discovers that her slipper is a perfect fit for her stepsister. Fighting the urge to confess her secret, Mariette and her family move into the prince's castle, where old friends-and fiancés-are reunited. Note on Setting: This takes place in a kind of fictional France (hence many of the names, though they speak English). Postscript: "Lady" is a title given to woman married to a man with an estate, much like "Queen" is given to a woman married to a man with a castle. "Mistress" is given to a woman yet to inherit an estate, though of high-class breed (one would not refer to a beggar or maid as 'Mistress'). Monsieur (pronounced Mi-syur, despite the spelling) is a title given to a man that has yet to or has inherited an estate.Complete

She had a very perfect life as she was a perfect girl. She had everything she could ask for, a brilliant mind, wealth, and many other things, hence death never really crossed her mind. Waking up inside a novel is an unusual but very cliché thing, but the young brainiac didn't intend to lay low and hold herself back. "Make way for the protagonist? Hah. I lived my life pleasing no one other than myself. And I prefer it stays that way." The plan is to take everything she wants for herself. And in everything, she meant... Everything.
