this is just a little writing exercise i'm doing for a bit of a break from longer projects! for this reason it's a bit messy, just for fun :)

this is a short story based on taylor swift's 'august' on her 2020 album 'folklore' -  i do not own the song so the lyrics (used in chapter titles) aren't mine but the other stuff is :)

But what about when August is over? Is their bond strong enough to hold them together, or will they be forced to let each other go? The Cruelest Summer by writing1322

To say Summer 2016 was monumental for Taylor would be a massive understatement. She met the love of her life, feuded with pop culture's biggest power couple, ended two highly publicized romances, dismantled her "squad", and dealt with lots of family drama. It's no wonder so many songs in her discography touch upon these themes. This story focuses on Taylor and Joe's love story but has other plot points. I tried to make it as accurate as possible, referencing song lyrics, things Tay/Joe have said in interviews, and known Taylor sightings. Of course, as this is a fanfic, take everything with a grain of salt- I'm just a swiftie head cannoning lol. Most importantly though, happy reading!!
