Damon Salvatore is 25 years old man who stopped ageing 173 years ago when he was turned into a vampire by Katerina Petrova in 1864, a woman who he hated yet loved at the same time. She was captured and killed in a fire, he went off the rails and is still finding it hard without her, hence why he drinks a lot and also smokes daily to relieve the pain of her not being there.
Damon has a brother, Stefan, who is currently living in Mystic Falls, Stefan calls Damon and he answers it.
"Where are you?" he says
"Definitely not Mystic Falls brother" Damon says as memories flood into his brain of him and Katherine
"Well, i need you to come back. Now"
"Why the hell would I do that?"
there is a silent pause that seems to last forever.
"Because Katherine is here"
