Judith Grimes has lived in Alexandria her whole life but she doesn't feel like part of the group. Her dad and big brother, the two most special people to her, are gone. She doesn't feel she fits in with the other kids since she is the leaders daughter, and her mom is going stir crazy trying to come up with new ridiculous rules everyday to keep the town safe. Suddenly she meets someone. She isn't allowed to see her new friend but she has a strong feeling this potential friendship is too good to waste.
