A young girl named Alice finds that her life is flipped even more upside down when her mom re-marries a man named David Oswald. He thinks that starting over might give Alice, her mom and him a chance at a new life. But Alice isn't too into him. Something about him reminded her of when she was little. As if she had seen him before. He came out of nowhere 13 years after her real dad left. She sees him as the only reason why her life is once again ruined after her billionaire father left her at the age of three. But, as she slowly gets used to her new surroundings in the rich subs of San Francisco, she begins uncovering things from her moms past. And by past, she means when her mother was STILL with her father.
