Growing up was tough for Jasmine; being abused and mistreated because of petty childhood grudges wasn't an amazing feeling. She always felt like she was lacking something, part of the puzzle. And then she gets a letter, and her life changes.
Now, with an entirely new outlook and disposition, she's out for vengeance. Dumbledore may have bitten off more than he could chew when it came to the situation he was in now, a consequence of his own actions. He got too cocky after manipulating Tom successfully; he forgot to keep the same leash on for his daughter, and will instead get a fist to the face.
She wasn't above physical violence.
"I'm not going to leave my vengeance up to a god. They'd forget about me, the quiet one. No, I'll get my vengeance, one way or another. And no promises that it's going to be quiet."
