The familiar characters and some background information,are,of course, Tolkien.The new are my own creation,a continuation of that story.I take no credit for Tolkien's body of work.

The Kings Test

At first it was a simple demonstration of basic commands.But it became apparent to Legolas how thick the tension was between them.
He was sure one or the other would meet their demise before this 'demonstration' was over.

"Relent."the king advises Gabriella,  the tip of his sword mockingly flipping her raven locks."-you are out-skilled,out-maneuvered."
"Never."she counters defiantly,in a low,dangerous tone,swatting his sword with such force,it practically flew from his hand.
She gave him a challenging look,raising a brow.
She wishes to play.Very well.
He came at her full force,their blades clashing so fast,it was a blur.
The king ruthlessly smacked the sword from her hand,but she quickly did a backwards flip before he could draw on her.
"Had enough,little one?"he challenged.
She stood,drawing two daggers from behind her.
"I'll let you know when I've had enough,my Lord."she returned,her words dripping venom.
Fiery little winch.
"As you wish."he said,smiling wickedly.
It was the first time he smiled at her,and it made her seethe!
He skillfully picked up her sword with a flip of his,and took fighting stance.She came flying at him.Legolas covered his eyes.

This is an xReader for feminine persons, and it involves a ton of inspiration from Dark Souls, so yeah, if you're reading this and thinking; "Izalith? Isn't that the witch from that one game?"- to that I say, yes it is. I'm a huge geek for that trilogy... Also this is based off both the book AND movies. I'm hoping to capture quality realism in this book, since I never read a fanfic that feels genuine or authentic in the way characters would act, or speak. My writing isn't used to formality, imma try my best to make it sound like Middle Earth speech, but if you see any mistakes, please for the love of Eru, point it out and give me advice!!!! And while it doesn't follow the Jane Austen classic completely (Thranduil is no Mr. Knightley!), it was certainly inspired by it. I enjoyed the challenge. It's not just the Dark Lord she has to worry about, with her 'itch' becoming more frequent, and her transformations more painful, she can't hide the truth for long. What will she do when Legolas, a cherished friend, tries to help her? It's a tale of intrigue, curses, death, and love. There will be references and scenes taken directly from the books and the movies along with scenes I've written in entirety. I've tried to edit the book scenes to match how I describe things from each character's perspective so it is a little more flowy. Enjoy!!

I had saved him from drowning when he was only 10, well looked 10 anyway. Since he is an elf they age very slowly just like my kind. After I saved his life that day he wouldd often come see me. Each day just to learn about me and my race. Since we'll, im a mermaid. I'm the last of my kind. He and I grew up together and my feelings for him became one of love over time. I loved him but it was dangerous for me because mermaids can only love once. If my heart breaks it will turn to stone and stop beating, it will grow old and cold and it will stop and never start again. My body will live but it would be a shell of a mer. One day Legolas had come to see me by the river, he told me about a young she-elf named Tauriel. He told me about how he had feelings for her and how amazing she was. My heart hurt at those words. He had fallen for another. That day I told him I loved him and that I would never forget him. Then I grabbed his face with my hands and kissed him. When I kissed him a tear slid down my cheek, when it hit the ground it turned into a white pearl. I kissed him because I loved him but when I kissed him I took away every memory of him and myself. I let go and put my necklace around his neck. It was a green stone with markings on it. We called it our hearts we would give it to the ones we love. I looked at him one last time before jumping back into the water leaving the one I love.
