In the early 1800's slavery was still up and around. White people thought they were superior to the African-Americans they treated them like animals. One young girl whoms father owned a cotton farm always had slaves coming in to work him and he was known for also having the biggest death toll of slaves in the whole south! But this girl was different from her father and all those around her she was madly in love with a slave who she had known since she was small and unknown to her he was in love with her as well!
