Seth Hastings is the King of Roswen's son and he is not happy with his life. He hates being the son of a King and wishes to leave this life and make one for himself. But when his father pushes him to find a bride, that's the last straw. Seth packs a few things and leaves his mansion home and sets out for life at a nearby village named Pyven. Always having a fascination with metal, he checks out the local blacksmith shop. Amity Turner is the middle child of six children. She lives happily with her family in the small village of Pyven. The other villagers consider her family lucky, they have lost no children and both parents have survived famine and childbirth. Her father works as the village blacksmith and takes on an apprentice, who mysteriously appeared in their quaint little village. And this certain apprentice happens to take a liking to the blacksmith's daughter.

Jasmine's family are very poor farmers who work under Sir Christopher's mercy the way most of the people of the village do. Sir Christopher is a heartless rich man who lives in a castle with his beautiful white hearted wife, son and evil sister. Sir Christopher's nephew. Thomas, is a very intelligent poet, writer and teacher who tutors Sir Christopher's 6 year old son, Alexander. Sir Christopher wanted Thomas to marry his sister Katherine but when he refused explaining that he was in love with the poor farmer girl jasmine, Sir Christopher didn't approve that at all and demanded that if he didn't marry his sister he'll murder Jasmine in front of his eyes. Thomas and Jasmine decided to run away one night after getting married secretly leaving everything behind them. Sir Christopher's men chased them for days, weeks and months with no hope of catching the two lovers who suffered living between rocks and in dangerous caves, but even though that won't let them give up their love. But as usual every thing has an end. Jasmine give birth to a baby girl, Elizabeth. And after 2 years of running Thomas was obliged to run away alone leaving his wife and daughter behind with a promise of coming back. What will happen when Jasmine's only hope for her daughter's sake is to go back to her village? What will Sir Christopher do to her?
