Is this the End? (short story)

I thought I was dead. After the gas took over most of the world, I didn't see much life. I didn't expect to be alive or one of the last people standing. The gas destroyed our crops, life stock, it took our families and friends, and most of all, it took our sanity. My name is Claire Bridge and 5 years ago, I was nothing but a teenage kid, living with my parents and hating literally everything. I never imagined what was going to happen or how I would lose everyone in the matter of 5 minutes. All I remember when the gas was sent out was the sound of sirens and the shallow breathing of my mother, father and the suffocating feeling on the inside of my body.
