The End

30 parts Ongoing

Every secret eventually makes its way out of the darkness. Theirs wasn't any different. It had been six years and that reality still stung her chest. Ellen had vowed to stop thinking about him, about what happened, but there was something about an impending apocalypse that made you reflect on your choices. The world had gone quiet but her mind felt very loud. Memories of him suddenly haunting her. Feelings she had long put to rest finding a way into her heart. She wouldn't romanticize what they had. It was messy and complicated. In some ways their relationship had to be experienced to be understood. They fought hard, and they loved hard. They challenged each other. But most of all, Patrick made her feel alive. He set her heart on fire. To even her surprise, it was that very fire that was warming her heart in the midst of the worlds turmoil. Caught in the flashbacks of a life that was once her's, Ellen must choose to push forward in the life she had built without him or find her way back to the life they could have had.
