Faces Behind the Shadows

Octravăn Floare has worked among the castle staff for many years, but even with time past people still whisper about him in the shadows of the castle. Cursed with a mark on his back that looks like fire the world views him as the product of the underworld, leaving him alone and depressed, aching to be lifted of his imperfection. However, when the king falls ill and announces Octravăn will be his successor the young boy panics, feeling he has no right to rule over anyone. In desperation he sets out on a quest to try and find an old apothecary in hopes of saving the king until he can find a proper heir. As he journeys to find a cure for the king a multitude of people cross his path, each reassuring him that he isn't alone. A boy with hair of straw and skin as white as snow, a girl who can't seem to read peoples emotions, a boy who follows sound, each one helping him find his importance in the world.
