"You are such an asshole!" I could feel the steam come out of my ear.
He looked at me as if I grew another head. "Oh so that's what I get for saving your life?"
"I never asked you to save my life!"
"Abracadabra! Nope, you're still a bitch."
"I don't understand how you-" I stopped. "Wait, did the bad boy of our high school just say 'abracadabra'?"
He started walking away making a noise of frustration at me being amused.

Jake Tyler is the bad boy at the high school. He is arrogant, overly confidence, and A LOT of trouble. It is no secret that he is involved in underground fighting.
Alexandra Mathews is sweet and sour. Though there is a side of her that no one knows exists.
When one night Alex is attacked by street thugs, Jake comes in and saves her. You would think they become friends. Nope. From then on they are trying to rip each other's throats. Both have secrets and demons they wrestle with only leaving to comfort one another. They fight to keep living.

Four years later Jake is in the military and Alex has a child. They run into each other only to be strangers now. Jake and Alex must go back to their teenage days to figure out where their love/hate friendship went wrong. Why Jake let Alex walk away? As they go back to old memories, old pain comes haunting back.
