His there-again, gone-again friend August isn't much help, either. Zeke wonders why police don't follow the vamp-attack angle, considering Carter's wounds. The politically-correct vamp culture has rendered him unsympathetic. As the evidence mounts against him, Zeke struggles to use his journalistic skills in an effort to save himself. The Monster seems to only be interested in Maria and targets her specifically, She has no clue as to why it's haunting her, no, hunting her, but she's determined to find out and put a stop to it before it can send the grim reaper her way.
