John Peyton and his brother Jim Peyton are both hard workers and are willing to do just about anything for family, but unfortunately work is scarce these days due to the energy crisis happening on Earth. However Neo Genesis construction (more commonly known as NEVEC), is searching for contractors for a unique job offer with great pay involving going to an alien planet simply labeled E.D.N.3. John is quite thrilled at the proposition, though Jim is not quite as eager about it considering his family. NEVEC however assures them that there is no danger in this endeavor, though both of them can't help but wonder if that is true, cause if there was no danger why would NEVEC be so willing to pay such a high fee? After much debating John comes to the conclusion that he'll go in order to support his family, Jim is opposed to this idea at first it saying should be him going to support the family, John convinces Jim that he's needed here with his wife and kid. Jim realizing that he's not talking his brother out of this and gives in, after all he knows brother all too well.

Do your genes, your parents, teachers, or your master determine who you will be in life? Can they set your value in the universe? 650 years ago the known species of the universe came together and signed the Alliance, a document that would help each race find its place in the universe. It granted freedom to some and the scant protection of slavery to others. Into this society a handful of children are born who will change it forever, if they can survive to adulthood. Here is the origin story of two of those children. Hathu is born to a man determined to make the universe bow to him and his species. Since he learned to talk, Hathu has been a disappointment to his father. He doesn't want to become a warrior, and he refuses to assert his dominance. When he accidentally overhears his father plotting against the Ir'Klahn empire, can Hathu stop him? Mik is born with no rights, destined to become a lifelong slave. His mother tries to protect him from this fate by running away and finding a home for them on a trading ship that travels from world to world. They are safe for now, but how long can they hide from the best trackers in the universe? This is the first book in the My Kingdom Come series. Updates every Tuesday. :) My 2021 Nanowrimo so please excuse the unedited condition of the story. Be warned: there is violence, rape, murder, abuse, self harm and suicidal thoughts in this story. I do not post trigger warnings.

Floating amongst a far off solar system, a coreless planet lays drifting. Its surface frozen over with nothing internally to heat through its mantles, making life ordinarily impossible to survive on. The planets previous inhabitants have been left to mere bones and dust from the destruction of the planets core, with their creations left to wander the remains and pick up the pieces of the now humanless world. But one day the fabric of the universe warped and pinched, and the planet saw its only piece of organic life in years, hair unnaturally whitened and an eye blacked out, donning clothing unfit for the harsh conditions. But luck had it that this person stumbled across the robotic creations that the dead humans left behind, giving him shelter from the piercing cold of the outside. But not all was fine, food is scarce, and searching for food becomes a necessity to provide for this misfit among those who do not need sustenance. Bearing the cold will likely be inevitable, and after his necessities are met, perhaps this spontaneous visitor could assist those providing him shelter, there isn't much left to do on this planet, after all.
