Waiting was a game Midoriya played with the devil. He had been waiting all his life, for someone, something, to make a move in the board game that is his life. He sighed, getting up from his bed. Looks like that move had finally been made, and now everyone was waiting for his reciprocating move. The news was plastered all over the walls of U.A. No, everywhere. All Might was dead.

They were projects made to show case both the skill of the creator and the powers of the heroes they portrayed, though the occasional vigilante game was a guilty pleasure. It was his greatest form of escape from the world, a screen to hide behind when the truth was too painful.. but he knew he couldn't hide for long. After the worst day of his life, Izuku is faced with this truth yet again, but this time from his hero All-Might. It wasn't cold or callous, but spoken to him with true concern and warning. It had been a shock to him, much more so than he had ever felt before, mainly because it wasn't yelled at him from Bakugo. Once All-Might left, Izuku realized his dreams could never be become true with how he was, and decided to take the plunge off the building... but the best thing about videogames, is that you can always try again, right?
