To leave a mark in the sands of time, one that will ring through history forever.

That is the dream of Lance Griffin, a warrior at the small, tactic-oriented academy of Sunset. For the sixteen year old, the ambition is simple: Become the first person from the American West Coast to win the World Battle Royale, the most prestigious competition for warriors in the world.

Despite the extremely likely chance of death and defeat along the way, Lance is eager to make his dream a reality, choosing to master a rare combat style that utilizes a double bladed sword and training for far more hours than his classes allow. With the support of his best friends since initiation, Evelene and Kai, and the instruction of his squadron leader, Chase, this year seems to finally be the year that Lance will be able to convince the academy leader, Jackson, to let him volunteer.

However, life isn't that easy. Constant clashes with nearby academies continuously keep the ambitious sixteen year old occupied, and when a major threat emerges in the east, Lance and his friends will be thrust into a situation that will change the fate of their region, and possibly the country, forever.

With the rise of the Towers came something more than control of Order and Entropy. With the rise of the Towers came THE GRIIDLORDS.
