Author's Note:
Growing up with shows like Supernatural and Black Butler, reading novels like Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth, and most importantly reading the Bible the full way through, I've gotten extremely fascinated by the esoteric aspects of Christian mythology and Biblical lore. This story is inspired heavily by such Christian motifs and symbolism, specifically the Nephilim and the Book of Enoch.

The setting of the story, rather than being the modern world, is instead the Age of Discovery. The reason being that, this era - the early 16th century, was a tumultous period when Christianity was spread via the early colonial Empires, and much of it involved horrific tales of the Inquisition and subjugation of conquered peoples. What better a place, then, for a novel inspired by Christian mythology than such a period?
