"Kid, look at me. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere, anytime soon. Nada. Zip. You got me?" With a chin on the crown of her head he let out a shuddering breath. The man was afraid that this was all a dream, a mirage created to ease his own mind.
But then he felt the steady rise and fall of a small chest against his own, and warm breaths in the crook of his neck. "Please," the young girl continued to shake in his hold as she clutched onto his suit of red and gold.
"Never again."

Kitty has always been alone; she was good with alone. At least that's what she thought. Having undergone hundreds of tests that Aldrich Killian put her through, all she could remember was him telling her, "We're nearly there, Kitty." He told her to call him "Uncle Al", but she never breathed a word, not since the first week of treatment.
Tony Stark had only ever hoped to find and rescue his partner, Pepper Potts. But he hadn't expected to walk out of AIM's laboratory with a youngin clinging on to his shirt. The little mutant was a mystery, with only a tag on her wrist - that had her name printed on it - to show for her identity. The easiest move would have been to hand her over to S.H.I.E.L.D., where she would be labelled yet another 'Inhuman'; but she needed a cure for her Extremis, and Tony was compelled to right a wrong that he had indirectly caused.
And who knew that young Kitty would grow on him?

She never thought she would ever meet anyone as egotistical as her brother, but boy was she wrong. She never wanted to be in the lime light like Tony, so she kept a quiet private life, even changed her surname, not wanting to draw attention to herself. She was only a few years old, when their parents died, and Tony didn't want her growing up in the spotlight, so he had her raised away from it all. Though she loved her brother dearly for giving her a safe, quiet life, she missed having that bond with him. That is until the day he announced himself as Iron-man and joined the group of misfits that called themselves heroes. She had worked at the local hospital, as a doctor in the ER, but was often called upon to fix up the idiots who didn't know how to take care of themselves. On one of her shifts, she comes across HIM. After a public disagreement, that resulted in her suspension, when she hit him, he had found out that she was none other than Tony Starks sister. He attempts to make amends, by inviting her to the party in his honour, in hopes of showing the board that she was an asset to the hospital, when his life takes a turn for the worst, and an accident occurs. Her life takes a complete turn, when she finds herself taken after the battle. ***** When he had returned to Midgard, Earth a few years later, with a reformed Loki, he finds that she had been missing and presumed dead almost as long as he had been gone. When the Avengers hit a Hydra base, to get back the scepter, they come across a room, where someone is bound, from the ceiling. Rescuing the fraile figure, they return to the jet victorious, only to find their rescue, is none other than Ana. She was barely conscious, and from clear signs, she was not there willingly. Taking her back to the tower, they try to help her, only to find that she has no memory of them, and now holding her own power. Thor wants nothing more than to destroy every single person who had hurt her, his need to protect her burning within him.
