While You Sleep (Complete)

A whole year; they'd been beyond my reach for an entire year and the days just seemed to be getting longer and harder to handle.
I visited them every day and watched over them as they rested but how much longer can I continue to endure this?
For so many months they were all that I'd had and now I felt like my whole universe had imploded.
My true family; the one I'd chosen, my boys. They weren't down the street anymore. I couldn't send them a message and ask them to come and visit.
Slowly, as the days turned to weeks and then months, my pain had numbed along with every other emotion and I could function on some level but I hadn't smiled since the day that Dr Roberts had knocked on Nathan's door and informed me that somehow Volto had won.
