We're all tired. We're all tired of our lives. But you learn to brush it off and get over it. Cause wallowing in self-pity isn't going to do anything for you. It's not going to help." Astra sighed. "That's the best advice I can give you. Learn to live with it. Learn to live with who you are. And if you can't find happiness in the little things, then what the hell are you still doing here?" Aurora watched as Olympus burned, her feet iced to the ground. She couldn't move. Aurora felt a tear slip down her face as she heard the agonizing scream of Artemis- before her voice cut off. Heaps of dead demigods lay around her feet, their eyes glazed over. Aurora blinked, her vision changing. She was in Olympus now. 12 thrones lay in ruins. Percy Jackson sat across the hall, a sword piercing his back. Astra and Ethan were holding hands, their bodies not moving. Kai was holding Annabeth close, to protect her from the brunt of the flames. It didn't work. Aurora closed her eyes. Olympus had fallen to Kronos.

Coming back home should've been Percy's dream come true, after all it meant he'd lived through his second war and he was finally getting a chance to live a normal life, right? Oh, how he wished it were that easy. There's a part that's never told about heroes and legends, it's the part that's easiest to hide because everyone so desperately wants to avoid and forget, and Percy knows just why. It's the part that no one will talk about in broad daylight, but they'll whisper around in dark corners and conversations on the phone. It's the part that completely takes over when it's 4:00 am, and you cant's sleep. It's the part that makes you wish there'd been a different ending to the same story. That's the part that Percy hadn't quite paid attention to when he'd decided to come back home. A short fic about what happens to our favorite hero, once everything is over. ~darkPercy
