Calliope Florence is dead, body turned into flaming stars in the night sky; her time as a hunter of Artemis was over. She was delighting in Elysium, finally reaping what she carefully sowed for two centuries. She had an eternity of happiness to look forward to. That is, until the giants rise again, threatening to topple the gods once more.

Resurrected from the dead, Calliope is tasked to join forces with demigod Percy Jackson, to guide him to Camp Jupiter, free Death from its chains, and retrieve what had been lost in the frozen realm of ice and sand.
