Hugh Wiemann is a quiet character. A simple young man, with simple dreams. He's growing up, playing sport, and enjoying the life he leads beside his two best mates, older brother and little sisters. He's incredibly content, and counts his blessings almost everyday. His life on the historic family farm is exactly what he expected and exactly where he wants to be. Except theres a dark cloud hovering over the town of Olive Creek, that just won't rain. Kate Cook is an anxious uni student. She grew up alongside Hugh, on almost neighbouring properties along Wattle Blossom Road. Her father was intense, and her dreams big so she moved to the city in pursuit of her dreams, and she's hardly been home since. One dark winters night, in a warm bar in Adelaide, their paths cross and the two notice that maybe their lives were starting to change. With truck accidents, family illness and the constant wait for rain, join Hugh and Kate as they grow into the adults they were always supposed to be and as they realise that to trust is to love and to love is to be loved.

2020 WATTYS WINNER in NEW ADULT! Oliver Ausman has been given a second chance at life, but it's hard to feel grateful when he was the one trying to end it in the first place. Returning to his normal life after being released from the hospital is hard, especially since his parent's idea of normal is made up of dinner parties, prep school, fancy suits, and fake manners-- all paired with a complete disregard for the mental health of their firstborn. He's long been fed up with it, but the final straw is when he finds out that his "father" isn't actually his father at all. Oliver decides he's had enough of the perfect facade, so he packs a suitcase and grabs his younger brother, "borrowing" his mother's car to sneak off on a trip to find his biological father. But he never expected to pick up a girl with her own similar set of problems, to be followed across the country by a money-hungry pair of criminals, or most of all, to find out that maybe this life thing isn't as bad as he thought.
