Sherlock Holmes had left Alina Jackson with their daughter and carried on with his life, forgetting about her. After her Mother's death, Athena is sent to live in the custody of non other than Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock was not fond of this young woman parading around his and John's flat, but what could he do? 

Athena found her Dad a very interesting, yet, irritating person. Even though, she didn't give a damn about what he thought about her, a part of her always wanted to impress him. And soon she would gain the trust and love of Sherlock Holmes. All they needed was time. 

John Watson was rather fond of the youngest Holmes. He looked out for her as if she were his own sister. The familiarity between Sherlock and Athena freaked him out, but, thankfully he managed to withstand, love and protect another Holmes.

They were great friends at school and in fear he would be lonely again after Sherlock died he started to meet up with her, and soon, she moved in with him. They're just friends, though. No one could have a bond with John like Sherlock did. Sherlock was his best friend. But then Sherlock returns, and John is more furious than ever at him. Also, Sherlock and Holland seem to bond quite well, which is something Sherlock finds too complicated to explain itself.
