Three Knocks

It had been two and a half years since Kel had seen Sunny and he had been trying every day since the funeral to see him. Two and a half years without seeing his best friend.

He missed him.

That's why, every morning after breakfast, he would saunter to the door to tie his shoes, and in the colder months, throw a jacket on. He would march, almost religiously, to the doorstep of the Suzuki household and knock, once, twice, three times before sitting on the steps.

Or: Kel is waiting for Sunny to come out of his home. He waits a long time.
