All You Need is Me

Mei remembers asking someone once.

A question she had asked herself countless times.

Whether she was someone deserving of happiness.

She can't remember what they said anymore.

She wonders if it would have changed anything.

That if she had heard something different, she would have walked away.

That with time, she would have learned to let go.

To be "better".

...Or maybe it wouldn't have mattered at all.

For perhaps this was all she ever was. All she would ever become.

Different answer. Same inevitable path.

For in the end, she still dreams of the girl she loves.

And Mei wonders...if she should have stopped dreaming long ago.
