An ecosystem twisted by magic. An ancient device called the Arc-Light. Rulers of a nation built upon the foundations of magic and the divine vie for dominance in a changing world of their own construction.

To investigate the ecological phenomena since the Greatest Solution, the ruling Circle of Magi dispatched an expeditionary force, named The Arc-Light Expedition, but their rendevzous fail and all members of the team are presumed dead within the first three weeks.

In their place, a hero rises: a self-proclaimed mage, and an enemy to the Circle, to take the risks no other would dare and to unravel the secrets of a world lost to history. Until, on a dark and starry night, the Arc-Light descends from the Heavens to decree its truths and a hero's fate.

The idea of this story is a future sequel to a manuscript I have almost completed, called The Order of Ivayla. This one focuses on a single main character with several characteristics done differently. It is a test-bed for a strict first-person, present-tense experimental story. There are psychological themes in development. The main character, Mira, communicates to an entity who is a figure of mental degradation.

The Five Cursed Witches: Volume 4 - Mirai, the Witch of Sight by High_Priestess_Elena
101 parts Complete Mature
Mirai comes from a long line of witches who have been particularly gifted in using their inner sight. As such, she's trained her sight from a young age. She's always been a disappointment, however, as the only thing she's ever been able to see is the vague image of a girl. On her 18th birthday, Mirai discovers a mark on the back of her neck displaying the number thirty. From her first proper vision, she deduces that unless she finds the girl before the number reaches zero, both of them will die. Only being able to depend on her less than mediocre skills in seeing the future, Mirai sets out to find the girl before the time is up. Little does she know of the trauma the girl has suffered, nor that finding her is only the beginning. ---------- Mature rating due to: smut, violence, suicide (happens in the prologue while POV-character has her back turned), rape (happens in chapter 30 and will be mentions of it afterwards, fade to black, there will NOT be a trigger warning at the beginning of the specific chapter), violent death of babies, some rather bloody scenes, self-harm, extreme guilt. Note that a major part of this story focus on healing from and learning to live with trauma, so though you could potentially read it but skip some specific parts, if you're not comfortable reading something that deals with the listed topics, then this book won't be for you. ---------- This series will contain the following volumes: Volume 1 - Zoe, the witch of innocence (completed) Volume 2 - Crimson, the witch of night (completed) Volume 3 - Morana, the witch of life (completed) Volume 4 - Mirai, the witch of sight (completed) Volume 5 - Danae, the witch of light (ongoing) Volume 6 - Rheseis, the faerie of love

26 parts Complete Mature

As a Cursed elf, one born with no magic, Edwyr has been forced to live among humans for over ten years. He doesn't mind his job of defending the town that he now lives in from beast attacks, and he gets along with most of the humans well enough, but he can never quite make the bitterness and resentment over being exiled go away. Life goes on as usual until a talented but inexperienced elf named Feyrith arrives and tells Edwyr that the High Elven Council wants him to help Feyrith on a quest. Despite his hatred towards the Council, Edwyr ends up agreeing, if only because he doubts Feyrith can survive a trip like this alone. The task is to investigate strange magical energies in a ruin a few days' travel away. Edwyr assumes that the only thing to worry about will be avoiding getting killed by the jungle wildlife, but the mission turns much more complicated when they stumble across a conspiracy that aims to change everything about the elven society. Including both of their destinies. --------------------------- [word count: ≈ 90 000 words] • Book 1 - The Circles of Magic • Book 2 - The Nature of Magic • Book 3 - The Valor of Magic
