"Why are you here?" I flick my eyes across his face, observing his tired features trying to decide what made him so easy to hate. A nonplussed expression graced his face. "It gets pretty dangerous here, you know."
Not that it's a bad thing.
He arches an eyebrow, shrugging. "I didn't know you worried so much about me," he smiles. "Who knew the big, bad Elowen herself had the audacity to care about me." he teased.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "I don't."
"It sure sounds like you do to me."
Our eyes momentarily meet from across the three foot space that separates us, until I flip him off. His smile widens immensely, not phased by what he had once referred to as my 'rough charm'.
"How does it feel to be wrong?" I ask leaning against the can behind me.
It's ice cold and I nearly yelp when it touches the bare skin of my wrist. But I manage to stay calm, much to my surprise.
"I've known you for twelve years," he rolls his eyes for the millionth time. I just knew his eyes would roll out of his head any second now and I was ready to stomp on them. "I know when you worry about someone. And Elowen?"
"Don't."
His smile turns into a smirk, testing me. "You worry about me."
