I guess this is just how the human brain works. Oliver is saving a spot in his heart for another. A boy he met when he was 5. It's been 12 years. There's a possibility they may not even cross paths ever again. And a higher possibility the other boy forgot about Oliver. Time takes a lot out of a person.
