"That Must Be What Love Is" - TLKOE Monster Dads fic

(Note for anyone confused: I wrote this fic last Valentine's Day, but I only just now decided to post it lol so that's why this fic is Valentine's Day related or whatever. Also, yes, this fic is for the ship Monster Dads, aka Thrull x Bardle, however this fic takes place in a Canon-divergent timeline where Thrull wasn't evil and was simply an old army guy, which is pretty much all that's changed.)

It's the first Valentine's Day since the Zombie Monster Apocalypse started. The main four are excited, and in turn, their new monster friends are excited. Well, all except two monsters. An ex-war general monster, and a sorcerer, also known as Thrull and Bardle. These two, still trying to navigate the strange world they now reside in, are struggling with feelings that monsters don't commonly grow towards one another. What are friends? What do they do? The people that know the answers definitely aren't these two.
